10 Unacceptable Cycles Black People Have To Change
One of my friends shared this with me so I'm paying it forward. With that said, I'm going to vent a lil bit.
Being a young, black, knowledge seeking individual (notice the pic in the top right corner), I realize that my actions and motivations toward life are ones that will either elevate or depress the growth of those after me. The year 2010 is almost over and yet there are still signs of ignorance that flood TV, music, and society.
Isn't the US President black?
If we've ever needed a sign that the gangster is no longer relevant, I think we found it.
But I digress..
Anyway, LaShaun Williams wrote these 10 things that should change in order to help establish progression and they're pretty good insights.
Read up and start a convo no matter what race you are. Start being a part of the solution.
Note: Click the title to get the complete article.
1. Sexual promiscuity
2. Children out of wedlock: Accounts for 70 percent of black children
3. Fear of commitment: It’s the first step in rebuilding families and setting standards for structure
4. Lack of education: Having an education unlocks doors and shatters glass ceilings
5. Excessive cursing: Cursing excessively displays an inability to articulate
6. Negligent parenting: Instead of teaching our children the words to rap songs, we should be playing educational or at least age-appropriate sing-a-long songs
7. Adornment of ignorance: There is nothing wrong with speaking so-called proper English, getting good grades... It’s not “acting white.” It should be the new “acting black.”
8. Intra-racial discrimination
9. Violence
10. Poor health

Ski Beatz ft. Nesby Phips: Blue and Green
A lot of people that love radio hits probably don't know who Ski Beatz is but he's been around for a minute. He's worked with a lot of big acts but he's more famously known for making Dead Presidents off Hov's Reasonable Doubt. He keeps a low (but consistent) profile.
Blue and Green is a track off a new album integrating Miles Davis soul w/ Ski's impeccable producer savvy.
enjoy
Note: If you don't know what impeccable means please pick up a dictionary
