All That Glitters Ain't Gold

Those of you who are into music may know of the popular DJ Am who was known widely for his numerous celebrity-hosted parties and insane shoe-collection. He is also known for the plane crash that he and drummer/friend Travis Barker survived in South Carolina close to a year ago.

Unfortunately, DJ AM was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on August 28 with drug paraphernalia close-by. Although DJ AM was known worldwide and seemed as if his life was perfect, it goes to show that regardless of how famous someone may be or how much money a person has, there are still those who face problems like everybody else.

DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein you will be missed. May you forever Rest In Peace.

New Timberland Beat-Making Game

I got another hot game for all you gamers out there to check out.
It's called Beaterator and it's endorsed by Timberland under Rockstar, which is most widely known for their Grand Theft Auto series of games. This game is going to place the beat making working onto a whole new accord because not only is it first multi-tiered music production video game, but its put together in such a simple way that almost anyone will be able to put together tracks within a matter of minutes.

Something to Excite Gamers in the Near Future

Hey all
Since my last post, much has happened that you may have missed.. Bow Wow got signed to Cash Money (SMH), the Obama health care and economic plans have caused a lot of disgruntled opinions between Obama supporters, and amongst all else, there hasn't been a time that you can turn on the tv without seeing something new on the death of Michael Jackson.
So with that said, let's take a break and enjoy the one thing that has consistently made people both young and old happier and more stress free, video games.
For all of you avid gamers, like myself, here is the official trailer for the upcoming NBA 2k10 set to release October 6.

When the Money Goes

In case you haven't seen this video yet it is here for you to watch in all of its excitement. I was confused when first watching because I hadn't heard a Fabolous version of this song so it kinda caught me off guard. If you've heard the Jay-Z version, be advised that you are also in for a surprise. The video is good though in my opinion so I hope you think the same.

A Much Needed PSA

Hi all.
Unfortunately, I've been working 14 hour shifts for the past few days so I've been unable to keep the blogs as consistent as I would like.
Anyway, with some more interesting dialect, there has been a continuous downfall in hip-hop music for the past 5+ years and although there have been a select few of rappers coming out that seem to be making a change, there is still the overpowering of weakness that flood radio stations and other media outlets.
Thankfully, Nas has taken an actual step toward confronting this problem.
Even though the clip is intended for comedic purposes, there is truth that is connected behind the video.

Music has always been about self-expression but lately, the hip-hop community has steered more toward the tangible objects that we possess rather than real-life issues and situations.
Every rapper doesn't own a Maybach and most rappers lease their jewelry anyway.
Yea it's fun to talk about the nice things we have but in order to change the perception and stereotypes that have come with hip-hop, things need to change.
Thank you Nas for shedding some light on the destructive road we (hip-hop connoisseur's) are placing ourselves on.
Enjoy
